PRODUCTION - CONCEPT 1
I want this piece of concept to convey the feeling of fear and danger that the cat is feeling will stand in front of a speeding car.

I started by drawing a road so that I would know where everything would go.
then I started to add in rectangles in the background to create skyscrapers you see in the city. Each different shade of grey resulted in a new layer.
Once the building was finished I added a road and started blocking out the car and cat. I don't know to necessarily draw a car so I googled ford focus 2012 front and got a picture that looked right. I did a simulate thing with the cat but I changed the cat pose a little bit to make him look scared.

Once that all was done I started to colour/shade/add window in all the background. I'm not used to creating cityscapes so I found that quite difficult.
next, I coloured in the car. I used the colour red for the car and the red glow as this colour usually symbolizes danger. in the book, the car is described to look like a metal monster so I added eyes(which I later removed) and mouth to make it look like one. In the final, I got rid of the red eyes and added motion blur and it made the whole piece better.

Finally, I coloured in the cat and the cat in the book previously has been through a storm and has fallen in puddles so I tried to make him dirtier looking with brown on his paws. I also added some dark shadow at the front of all the layers to make the whole scene darker.

In this piece I wanted the audience to feel fear that the cat would feel. I did this by having his ears in a flat line along with his tail being between his legs while trying to make it look bigger. I have I successfully achieved this.
