For this unit, we were asked to review and create our own characters. Most characters now I noticed are usually white human males and I wanted to create something opposite of that.

To achieve this, I made my character female and not fully human as I believe that a certain gender shouldn’t matter and change or affect the story or gameplay too much or at all.

I believe I succeeded in meeting the necessary characteristics when making her as she doesn’t look like your stereotypical damsel in distress who doesn’t know what she's doing but a hunter or warrior.

Before I created Moss, I created her background. How the way she looks came to be? Why she's wearing what she's wearing? And what the place she lives in and survives in looks like? It gives the character more depth and reason for her looks.

I didn’t necessarily make moss to communicate a certain message. I made her with the idea of making an interesting new character that doesn't follow the common stereotypes or the common human look (like I mention). I wanted to make a character that was unique that I could base a game around and most importantly have fun with. I plan to develop Moss further in future projects along with the world and creatures she lives with.
